A custom fastener starts with the assembly requirement.
For non-standard screws and fastening components, the RFQ should explain how the part locates, clamps, pivots, retains or transfers load—not only its overall dimensions.
Head and drive
Define head geometry, drive type, recess, bearing surface and any anti-rotation or installation feature required by the assembly.
Thread specification
State thread standard, size, pitch, class, direction, length, start, relief and any thread-forming or locking requirement.
Material and treatment
Specify grade, strength or hardness requirements, heat treatment, coating, corrosion exposure and any required material documentation.
Sorting and packing
Identify characteristics suitable for sorting, inspection criteria, cleanliness, individual or bulk packing, labels, barcodes and export cartons.

What information is needed for a custom screw quotation?
Send the drawing or sample details, material, quantity, head and drive geometry, complete thread specification, finish, strength or hardness needs, inspection requirements and application information.
Can CKJM make a fastener that is not in a standard catalogue?
CKJM focuses on drawing-based and application-specific hardware. The proposed process is reviewed according to geometry, material, quantity and required secondary operations.
Can a physical sample be used for the initial review?
A sample can support the discussion, but functional dimensions, tolerances, material and finish still need to be defined and approved before production.
Is CCD sorting available for custom fasteners?
CKJM lists CCD sorting capability for suitable part features. The characteristic, acceptance criteria and whether sorting is appropriate must be confirmed for the specific project.
