Define the complete milled component before quotation.
Geometry, setup access, tolerance relationships and finish requirements affect both manufacturability and cost. A complete RFQ helps the production route and inspection scope be reviewed together.
Geometry and setup
Supply a 3D model with a controlled 2D drawing. Identify deep pockets, thin walls, internal corners, undercuts and areas where tool access may be limited.
Critical relationships
Mark datums, hole positions, flatness, perpendicularity, parallelism, bores, fits and mating surfaces that control assembly or function.
Threads and finish
Define threads, inserts, surface roughness, anodizing, plating, protected areas and cosmetic faces. Review finished dimensions together with treatment.
Reports and packaging
State first article, dimensional report, material document, labeling, surface protection and export packaging requirements in the RFQ.

Before you request a quote
What files are best for a CNC milling quotation?
Provide a 3D model for complete geometry and a controlled 2D drawing for dimensions, tolerances, datums, threads, material, finish and inspection requirements.
Can I request a quote before every tolerance is finalized?
An initial discussion is possible, but identify functional features and mating requirements. Final production requires an approved specification with the relevant tolerances.
How should cosmetic requirements be communicated?
Mark cosmetic surfaces, acceptable appearance, color or finish references, protected areas and packaging needs on the drawing or a separate controlled specification.
Can CKJM supply finished parts with inspection documents?
Machining, secondary operations and project-specific inspection documents can be reviewed together. Confirm the exact finish and document scope during quotation.
